VPWdesigns is a collaboration between an engineer and a woodworker based in Girdwood, Alaska. We design and build custom wood and metal furniture and built-ins for the home, office and everywhere else. We are licensed with the State of Alaska as a Specialty Contractor doing Finish Carpentry. Each piece is hand-made and one-of-a-kind using a mix of traditional wood joinery and modern design. Our goal is to provide durable and functional pieces that are pleasurable to share space with. Commissioned projects are our specialty and we can adjust design features according to budget. We hand select the wood for each project, paying attention to its natural features and how they will shine best in each piece. Reclaimed and recycled mediums are used in projects as much as possible if they coincide with your needs. Wood is sourced primarily from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved suppliers (unless otherwise specified by the customer or reclaimed) and all waste is recycled or utilized for other projects or to heat our home. Currently we have various sizes and styles of tables, benches, desks, and even fish bonkers for sale.
