NEW ON THE BLOG | The Route That Made the World: A Silk Road Journey

Follow the Silk Road through Central Asia and discover the rich history behind ikat weaving—a centuries-old textile tradition that continues to inspire design today.

Calico’s Jan Jessup traveled through Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, tracing the artistry, craftsmanship, and cultural influences that traveled these ancient trade routes from China to the Mediterranean.

✨ Explore the journey. Discover the history. See how ikat continues to shape textile design today.
