We recently had the privilege of bringing this magnificent four-piece Victorian parlor suite—consisting of a carved master sofa and three coordinating accent chairs—back to life. Decades of wear had left the structural joints loose and the original cushioning completely deflated.
Our restoration process began with a complete teardown, stripping every piece back to its bare, exposed-wood skeleton. The exquisite, hand-carved details were carefully cleaned to preserve the rich, natural patina of the wood while erasing decades of surface scuffs.
For the rebuild, we combined historical integrity with modern comfort. The original steel coil springs were re-tied by hand using the traditional eight-way knotting technique. We replaced the degraded, dry-rotted internal layers with high-density padding. This heirloom parlor set is now fully restored to its rightful status as a durable, comfortable, and timelessly stylish home centerpiece.
