This week's project was turning an old black cherry slab into a vanity top, matching shelves, and lots and lots of sawdust! Can't wait to see pics of them in their new home!

May is preservation month. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer these past few weekends at a local Farmstead. The goal is to return the property to the way it was many years ago. Recent activities included removing insulation and other bits added in the 60s as well as deconstructing a barn door so a new one can be created. This is only the beginning so much much more to come!!

They don't make them like they used to. This thing is solid and worth every bit of the $1.49 someone paid for it decades ago!

Been great weather for outdoor projects lately. This was a quick exterior door replacement and new matching shutters!!

Old houses are always full of surprises. Started with a simple facia replacement due to water damage only to find a buried second set of fascia and sub fascia that also needed replacement. On top of that, you can't buy the standard issue exterior crown molding from the early 1900s so I had to get creative and make my own for a solid match. I think I got pretty close! Now it's good for at least another century!!
