Kent's Custom Woodworking Kent's Custom Woodworking Kent's Custom Woodworking is a page to show the furniture designs and pieces that have been hand crafted by Kent.

This started as a fun hobby about 10 years ago and has turned into a passion and eventually a small business. I make mostly Arts and Crafts pieces and particularly like the design features of Greene & Greene. The goal is to slowly build this into a part-time business and have it established as something to do in retirement. One of my goals is to continue to keep the tradition of hand-made solid wood furniture alive and well. This is the kind of furniture that can't be bought at a furniture store. All the wood comes from local trees harvested and taken to a local sawyer and cut into lumber. It is then dried for at least a year and then used to make these pieces. The end goal for me is to have a business where people can come and have a specific piece either designed for what they want or a replica made of something they have always wanted but can't purchase anywhere else.

This was made from ash which is quickly becoming extinct due to the bugs that are destroying all ash trees. I drew up the design and made everything except the walnut pulls. The case is made from 30’ long boards so the grain runs continuously. You’ll notice the same thing on the drawer fronts that are cut from one board.

Just finished and delivered a fun project that turned out great! A 9’ x 3’ conference table. Quarter sawn oak top (very heavy) with steel base and a 3 x 6 stretcher with a nice live edge.

I was asked to make a couple storage boxes to organize a card collection. They are black walnut and maple.
