To all my loyal customers and friends, I’m going to go a bit off topic. Please let me know if you can help my son out.

My 21 year old son, Jack , is looking for a house in the Holmen/LaCrosse area. Jack is pre-qualified for anything under 300k. He is one of the most responsible, hard working young men you will ever meet. Pam and I are so proud of him.

He has been putting offers in on homes, but the market is so crazy. The last house had 9 other offers!

We are working with a realtor and will continue to do so even if it’s for sale by owner.

Please text or call me at +16083049251 if you or anyone you know has a home for sale.

Thank you.

Check out this matching pair of white oak wh***ey cups I made for a friend and an Army Veteran.
My friend and I have known each other since kindergarten. We have been thru good times and a few tough times too. But our friendship never failed.
I am proud to call him a friend and thank him for fighting for our freedom.
Even though he now lives in Colorado, we still stay in touch.

I also have to mention Johnson Livings in LaCrescent for the custom engraving. The detail of the stars in the flag is absolutely amazing. The engraving turned out much better than I expected.

I have 9 white oak bourbon sipping cups available right now. All are lightly charred on the inside. These make great presents for that special wh***ey drinker that you know.

Demand is growing for the wh***ey sipping cups.

They will be for sale for $25 each.

Just to keep you updated, I’m picking more white oak up next week locally. My bandsaw also broke down this morning. Parts are ordered and should arrive late next week.
In the meantime, I have enough wood here in the shop for about 8 more cups. I’m trying to go in order of response on the site as to availability. Please be patient. I usually can make 1-2 cups a day after work.

Thanks to everyone for contacting me, I will be in touch with you.

After about 9 months away from the lathe, I’m back to turning again-but very limited.

Several of my neighbors and I have recently been getting into the bourbon scene. We share great pours and great times reflecting on life and solving the world’s problems.

So, this got me thinking. I’ve noticed in the bourbon world, ads have been showing up about craftsman making white oak drinking cups. These cups are made from the same white oak wood that wh***ey is aged in. These cups are also lightly charred on the inside also just like wh***ey barrels.

Well, here is my version. Locally sourced white oak, turned in my home workshop and lightly charred on the inside. The inside is unfinished but the outside has several coats of butcher block oil wiped on. Completely food safe.

These cups take your average bourbon to a whole new level. If you like the taste of oak in your bourbon, these cups take that oak taste to a whole new level. Believe me, I did plenty of taste testing!!!

The cups are around 3” in diameter and around 3 1/2” tall. All are one of a kind and absolutely beautiful.

I’ve also experimented with hickory and am going to try cherry soon.

Let me know your thoughts. If demand is out there, I might go full production mode.

Stay cool out there.

Save the date!!!!

This will be the last market that we plan to be in for the foreseeable future.

I have been struggling with dust control and breathing issues for a while now. It’s caused me to reevaluate the business side of things. It’s hard to stop creating bowls because of this situation. This side business was very successful.

That being said, I’m not giving up completely. I’m just pausing for a bit. We have met some of the most wonderful people over the years. Some have even become loyal customers and great friends. To everyone, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Please come and see us in our hometown of Holmen. We have a limited supply of bowls- same quality and beauty as you can always expect from my “imperfect” bowls.

See you soon!!
