Good times in the piney woods of east Texas today! Enjoyed some fantastic bbq at JW’s Barbecue with some great friends. Got a chance to check out his new M&M BBQ Company smoker. Wow, what a beautiful rig!

Fired up the Smokeslinger to smoke a turkey breast today. I wanted to try out a new product by Gabrick BBQ Sauce & Spice Co (Official) . “Juicy Bird” is their new brine that promises to make incredibly juicy and flavorful poultry. It certainly delivered on this turkey! I marinated it in the brine overnight and then cooked it to 150 degrees and it was super moist. They call it a game changer and I’m inclined to agree. I’ll definitely be using this for my turkey, and will give it a try on some chicken soon. Order some for yourself and you won’t be disappointed!

Stopped off at Tejas Chocolate+Barbecue on our way to the coast. Fantastic bbq in a cool setting. The chili rijeno sausage was amazing and the carrot soufflé as well. Honestly everything was great! Go check it out for yourself.

I always try to support small local businesses, so when I heard about a Baylor grad student who has a business selling cookies it sounded like a win win! I contacted Charis with Pie’s Cookies and ordered a dozen S’mores chocolate chip cookies. They are fantastic and she’s such a nice young lady. Show her some support and order some for yourself!

Had to make a run to East Texas today and finally got to stop at Bodacious BBQ Hallsville, Tx . I’ve been keeping up with them on Instagram for awhile and had heard how good their bbq was. I was not disappointed! Tried the brisket, pork steak, sausage and boudin. I really enjoyed every bit of it. The owners are super friendly and it’s a nice clean atmosphere. Looking forward to going back again soon!

The Smokeslinger Smokeslinger did it again! This pit cooks amazingly well! Beef ribs, pork ribs, sausage and a smoked burger. Good eatin today!

Just happened to be passing through Allen, Texas today and remembered there was a bbq joint I’ve been wanting to try. Stopped in at Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q and was really impressed! The hospitality was first class and the bbq was delicious. Opted for their “Old School” Chopped brisket sandwich special and a birria taco. Really good bbq sandwich and the taco was excellent as well. Trey sent me to the pit room and Zack gave me a tour of their cool pit room. I definitely need to go back again and try more of their bbq. Thank you to Trey and his staff for making me feel so welcome! That’s how you do Texas Bbq!

Just when I thought the burger at Pustka Family Barbeque couldn’t get any better they go and mix in jalapeños and cheese to the patty and add some crispy bacon and a thick grilled onion slice and their Special burger sauce! Unbelievably good! Don’t miss this Friday burger special if you see it again! Or just show for the bbq. Either way you won’t be disappointed!
