Somewhere along the way, I stopped designing for how a home looks
and started designing for how it’s lived in.

For me that meant:
• building a mudroom that catches the daily drop (backpacks, shoes, everything)
• selecting fabrics that can handle real life
• designing rooms that could evolve as my kids grew older
• and trying to "think ahead" on big purchases hoping they would withstand wear & tear.

Because this season? It’s loud, busy, a little messy… and really good.
But remember - you don't have to have the biggest or most perfect house for it to be fun and beautiful! ✨

I’m calling women everywhere to takeover those f’n formal living rooms for themselves!! If you have one, I doubt you use it for “formal entertaining”. It’s wasted space. Start moving the furniture around. Think outside the box. Would you like to make it your game room, hobby space, or home office?

When we bought this house, this room had fabric padded walls and was staged with an antique settee. For a years it housed a neighbor’s baby grand piano that my children played on 12 times. This is a big improvement, right?! Pink sofa. Mahjong table. Samsung Frame TV so the art can change as quickly as my mood does.

Having a teenage girl means I get a front row seat to what’s acceptable… and what’s not. Here are a few of the things she has loved the longest—and I actually don’t cringe at.
