I finally got her put on the piece. I think I have a direction now. The base color will change a lot once I start blending, and this is the 3rd base color I tried!! Been a little intimidating since I'm new to this kind of project, but I'm going to "trust" the process!! Fingers crossed on this one.

So I'm back to the ugly nightstand and what a mess. It was painted with black chalk paint when I got it. I scuffed sanded it. I sprayed it with Schlack. Then I primed it in white. After I primed it in white, I put red bonding glaze on the top to make it nice and smooth, and then when I went to sand it, it started to peel up. I've never had that happen before . But I guess cause it was chalk paint on laminate that's what happens. Now I'm down to laminate and start over. I learn something every time I do a new piece.

Montana Baby Cache is DONE!! Only thing left is to tighten the k***s, stage with my photos and get her listed. I think she came out great. I decided not to line the drawers as they look great as is. Thoughts?

Baby Cache is almost done!! Made a trim piece from from a mold using hot glue first time to do that. The top is covered it is stained. I think I like it, will see. And I did deepen the green you see here just a little bit. Photos just never show the right color. Hopefully, the big reveal will be on Tuesday!

Well the only thing I feel good about yesterday is that I got the mold made. Total bust on coming up with the stain I want/like, but that's ok, it's in progress. Took the day off today to honor my aunt who passed away last year.
Here's the update on the mold. I used kwikwood as a filler, which dried super hard. It could have been a little smaller, so still some more sanding to do, but definitely worked!!

Well, I just started the Montana BabyCache dresser it's coming along pretty well. Very little nicks dents just a few here and there, but cleaned and sanded down. Finally decided on a paint color and put the retiqueit on the top and the bottom trim. Got the drawers all sanded down and made a mold for the missing trim piece, but I'm waiting on the filler to fill the mold. Wish me luck on the staining tomorrow. 😉
Maybe I'll get to paint too. Paint color is SW but bought Behr, low VOC!

To the ugly person who said I was a stupid C if I painted this piece...there is nothing special about this veneer / wood used to make this dresser that was colored over with mounds of heavy red stain to mask the wood used!!
I will be using retiqueit on the top and the base and painting the body pretty neutral green!!
