Dixie Belle and a Dream. What do you think I have planned for these Edwardian dining chairs? I'm ordering my and some fabric swatches. Can't wait to see what direction they take me!

Not just a Louis XV accent chair with peacock feather print and Klimt inspired Art Nouveau influence - this piece is a conversation between silhouette and fabric, a tension between drama and restraint. This is where the magic lives!

That velvet afterglow at dusk - when the light softens and the room awakens.

Look closer. She was never meant to be understated.

A chair should never apologize for its presence. This Louis XV frame has been reimagined in custom textiles - layered, tailored, and unapologetically dramatic. Designed for rooms that understand statement seating. --- Ria Nicholas Designs

These leopard dining chairs have recently arrived in their new home in Indian Wells, near Palm Springs, California. I’m always grateful when my work gets to live in spaces where it can actually be used and enjoyed. Wishing them a long, beautiful life in the desert.

Meet Amélie. What started out as curbside "trash" was actually a sweet French balloon-back chair in disguise. There wasn't anything wrong with her that a little TLC couldn't fix. I stripped off the old upholstery, tightened her joints, and cleaned her up. I first painted the frame with Dixie Belle Paint Company Boss primer. Next, I added a coat of leftover metallic gold paint. I covered that in Dixie Belle Paint Company Chalk Mineral Paint in "Ecru" and slightly distressed the ecru paint to let just a little of the gold peek through. I also antiqued the paint and top-coated it. Then, I rebuilt the seat from scratch and covered it in upholstery fabric that features wispy peacock feathers in grey and warm, shimmery gold against an ecru background. The result is a dreamy desk or vanity chair, a spare dining chair, or a accent chair for bringing a little romance to your space. When my client asked for a pair of light, airy, and modern caned barrel chairs I thought, "Wow, that's different from my usual style." But I absolutely LOVE the result! These chairs went from totally blah to super classy and versatile. And since I beefed up the seats with 4-inch box cushions, they are oh so comfortable! What do you think of the transition?
