In the heart of New York's Catskill Mountains, this restored 1890 home honors its Arts and Crafts roots – massive stone fireplaces, wood-paneled walls, and leaded glass windows – while making room for modern living. “We want the house to feel like a home that's being lived in today, not a historical recreation,” note homeowners Scott Arnold and Christiana Mavromatis, whose family of four brings renewed energy to the 7,000-square-foot space.
Originally, the house served as a community center in Onteora Park – an artists' enclave pioneered by visionary feminist Candace Wheeler. Today, it hums with gatherings of a different kind, from World Cup watch parties to “epic sleepovers.”
With its timeless beauty, the family's home made an ideal setting for our new arrivals. Explore more: https://bit.ly/4yQ4RHk
