We had a wonderful morning celebrating design at last Friday's in Houston! ✨

The IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter hosted the 2025 Houston Leaders Breakfast on Friday, August 8 at The Junior League of Houston, Inc. Co-chaired by our very own Jessy Fuller Longbotham, RID of J.Tyler, and Sana Sabharwal of Page, now Stantec, the event brought together over 300 professionals for a morning of inspiration, recognition, and networking.

🏆 The Leadership Award of Excellence honored Catherine M. Richard, RID, IIDA, Associate Partner and Senior Interior Designer at Kirksey Architecture, for her decades of leadership, mentorship, and impact on Houston’s design community.

🏅 Given for the first time in Houston, the Emerging Leader Award recognized Brianna N. LeFlore, RID, IIDA, Associate and Project Interior Designer at Page, now Stantec for her people-centered design work and commitment to mentoring future designers.

🗨️ This year’s keynote speaker was Maggie Jackson, award-winning journalist and author of Distracted and Uncertain, whose work explores the power of focus and embracing ambiguity in today’s fast-paced world.

Shout out to all the mentors who have helped shape this generation of phenomenal design leadership and to the leaders like Cathy who are shaping the designers of the future as we speak.
