It is a great time to come pick up some of our Garden Mix to create or top off your raised veggie beds and then plant some of the tasty Cole Crops referenced in the incredible growing guide put together by our friends with Texas A&M Agrilife Extension.

It is that time of year when we are preparing our fall gardens. Some of the stars for fall are the cole crops: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and more. Here is an Easy Gardening Guide to Growing Cole Crops from the Agrilife Extension Service:

The Best Mulch Company will be closed September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

We have a hard time keeping our hands out of our soil. Speaking of, this holiday weekend is an awesome time to get your new veggie garden built with our outstanding Garden Mix. Once built, you can sow by seed veggies from the following list starting in September: Beets, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Chard, Collards, kale, Leeks, Mustards, Snap Peas, Radish & Turnips. Can you dig it!

Amazingly it is the right time to plant a few veggies, but it will soon be time to plant many different types of veggies. This is a great time to pick up some of our Plant Mix to build and/or top off your veggie beds and get them ready for fall. Check out Texas Agrilife's planting chart for Harris County below.

It is still hot as hades out there to us AND our plants. There is really no better time than when it is this hot to make sure your plants are insulated from the heat by a moisture retentive layer of great mulch than right about now.
