We wanted the drawers to be an integral part of the design language for this collection. The rounded fronts extend around the sides and create a reveal that adds dimension from every angle.

These two tables started with a design our client fell in love with decades ago - a small end table created by a furniture professor at Herron School of Art + Design . The challenge was translating that design language into a full size dining table and matching hall table.

The design looks simple, but making it work wasn’t.

With no center supports, the dining table relied entirely on the four curved corner legs. A lot of the project became less about the shape, and more about what was happening inside. We spent countless hours developing the leg joinery so the table could carry its own weight, while keeping the design as clean and as true to the original as possible.

Projects like this are a reminder that some of the most interesting work is the part you’ll never see.

Custom ash desk and one of the biggest dining tables we’ve ever made!

The desk features a round hardwood leg on one side and vented computer cabinet on the other.

For the dining table, we milled a custom edge profile and incorporated brass inlays throughout the top.

These two pieces are now in their new home in Chicago, sitting in a beautiful mid-century inspired new build!
