We're still feeling flush with warmth and brightness from the opening fête of Lookout at Colony in Tribeca last week. We had such a wonderful turnout of friends, new and old, and we were reminded of the power a good old fashioned New York City party.

It was a warm Autumn evening so we threw open Colony’s huge glass doors and let the celebration spill onto the street. Dancer Jodi Melnick responded to the mood of the night and started her performance on the sidewalk, traversing the span of Colony’s storefront as though the gallery was the theater seating and the city was the stage. Then Jodi crawled inside and danced in and around our Touch and Strut collections, using the beams of light to illuminate her gestures, her shoes, and finally, her silhouette laid on the floor under the Touch Chandelier. We were transfixed.

The evening unfolded one beautiful conversation after another. Clients meeting friends, colleagues connecting with our team. Thank you to everyone who came out. Touch and Strut felt truly celebrated and we're so thrilled to introduce this work to the world.

Introducing LOOKOUT, a presentation that brings together two new lighting collections by Coil + Drift that represent contrasting experiences of illumination, Touch and Strut.

Lookout refers both to an action and a landmark: the act of watching, searching, and seeing from a distinct vantage point, as well as a setting that invites pause and reflection

From a lookout, we may focus attention on a distant point using binoculars, or open our eyes to a vast, expansive horizon.

Where Touch explores clarity and direction, Strutembraces warmth and atmosphere.

Alex P. White () envisioned Coil + Drift's Soren Chairs as custom barstools for two richly-textured flats in the same Lower East side residence.

For this weeks edition of our newsletter series, An Interior by..., we interview Alex about these much buzzed-about spaces and he gives us his Designer Drift recommendations. Sultry and glamor-forward, the second of these apartments appeared in AD, T Mag, Vogue Living, and New York Interior's recent book.
