A love of music meets a love of woodworking. ❤️

Joe’s custom record cabinet combines maple and quartersawn oak, with beautiful wood grain, classic details, and warm brass hardware. Designed around his music collection, it includes drawers for albums and CDs, dedicated spaces for the receiver and turntable, and open shelving for family photographs and treasured pieces.

A personal piece that brings music, memories, and craftsmanship together—built right here at Appalachian Woodworks.

Every element of this open-concept home was designed to feel beautifully connected.

Custom built-ins flank the stone fireplace, adding display space and architectural character while allowing the fireplace to remain the natural centerpiece of the living area.

In the adjoining kitchen, cabinetry extending to the ceiling provides abundant storage and a clean, timeless appearance. The custom wood range hood introduces warmth and features a dark metal band that coordinates beautifully with the hardware and lighting.

One of our favorite details is the handcrafted wood island countertop. A metal inlay runs through the top and wraps the ends, echoing the metal detail on the range hood and tying the entire design together.

From the fireplace built-ins to the cabinetry and one-of-a-kind details, this home is a wonderful example of what truly custom craftsmanship can bring to a space.

The double action hinged custom made pantry door helps to tie the space all together.

Natural white oak brings such warmth to this beautiful custom kitchen, while the cabinetry painted in a soft, warm white keeps the entire space feeling light and timeless.

The white oak island anchors the room and provides generous workspace and seating, while the custom range hood—with its coordinating natural oak band—beautifully ties the two finishes together. Thoughtful cabinetry extending to the ceiling, abundant drawer storage, inset doors and carefully crafted architectural details make this kitchen as functional as it is welcoming.

The natural white oak cabinetry continues into the bath, where its beautiful grain adds warmth and character to the custom vanity.

Designed for the home. Built for the family. Crafted to last.

A timeless kitchen designed for both beauty and everyday living. 🤍

For this recent custom project, our team at Appalachian Woodworks created cabinetry for both the kitchen and adjoining mudroom, carrying the same classic detailing throughout the spaces.

The perimeter cabinetry is finished in Benjamin Moore Simply White, giving the rooms a fresh, understated backdrop while allowing the craftsmanship to take center stage. Inset doors and drawers set within beaded face frames add the kind of traditional furniture-quality detail that gives custom cabinetry its distinctive character.

At the heart of the kitchen is a substantial walnut island, stained Special Walnut. The warmth and natural variation of the walnut provide a beautiful contrast against the Simply White cabinetry, while turned furniture-style legs and carefully proportioned panels give the island the presence of a freestanding piece of furniture.

Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, glass-front display cabinets, integrated appliance storage and abundant drawers make the kitchen as functional as it is beautiful. In the mudroom, tall storage cabinets frame a built-in bench and drawers, creating an organized and welcoming transition into the home.

We love projects like this—spaces that feel gracious and timeless today, yet are designed and built to serve a family for many years to come.
