We know it’s been a long minute since we’ve been able to share anything being completed and coming out of the shop. We’re still here, we’ve been busy for the last year.

Fun little project for Christmas

In woodworking, you can easily have experiments that go horribly wrong. Once in a while, though, you can have one work out okay.

This week for What We’re Making Wednesday, I wanted to try doing a contrasting weave inlay. So I threw together some scraps and made some coasters. Not perfect, but not bad, if I can say so. This was a fun little project to get ready for Momma OH Woody Design Co’s visit for Christmas!

We’re quickly approaching Christmas, which means the time for handmade Christmas gifts is quickly winding down as well.

For this What We’re Making Wednesday, I have some progress pictures for a special gift I’m making this Christmas. Mrs. OH Woody Design Co is an avid reader, meaning 150+ books a year. And since she’s not on Facebook, I thought I’d share progress pictures of her present with you. This is a book mark/book holder with a spot to run power to her E-Reader as well, for her desk in her office.

I’ll share more pictures when the finish is done. Just do me a favor, don’t show the big boss lady 🙂

What We’re Making Wednesday is a batch of Christmas presents for some teenagers who are obsessed with their phones. Who would say no to this cool little desktop phone holder?

We are dead smack dab in the middle of Christmas Gift Season, and trying to get caught up. That being said, this week’s “What Are We Making Wednesday” is a gift for a family member.

They do a lot of hosting in their home, so Mrs. OH Woody Design asked for a cutting and serving board to be made. The project is done & oiled, just waiting to be able to wax and wrap this special board.

Man we nearly missed this one (multiple kiddos under 3 at home will do that)

For this week’s “What are we making Wednesday”, we’re going way back on the radio dial to a spice rack build we made a few years ago. Made a pair of them, one for Mrs OH Woody DC and one for her mother.

This was a fun little build we made over a weekend to keep the “Happt Wife = Happy Life” theory alive.

We had a customer that loves smoking meet and having people over. So we designed and made him this longer cutting board, it’s big enough to fit an entire brisket on.

As you can tell, he loves it!

This week has been a little hectic here at OH Woody Design Co, but we wanted to show the latest cutting board design started in the shop. This is a custom designed hardwood cutting board made for a client to give away as a Christmas present. It’s made from Walnut, Cherry, and Maple.
