I love seeing how each couple’s personality blossoms during their engagement session. Some couples are super bubbly and outgoing, some are energetic and focused, and some, like Abigail and Ethan, are calm and sweet.

Spending the evening walking through the gardens with them, getting to know them, and admiring the beauty around us together was absolutely wonderful.

I never want a couple to feel as though they have to preform for the camera, or be something they aren’t. Your personality is party of what makes your relationship unique: lean into it and your photos will reflect that authenticity, and feel exactly like YOU.

Introducing Mr & Mrs Keenan!

Rylie & Nick were married at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta, GA, surrounded by their closest family and friends, in a beautiful ceremony full of meaning, intention, and tradition. I loved how every part of their day thoughtfully and intentionally included nods to their history as a couple, as well as their family and cultural traditions. Despite the threat of impending hurricane weather, the weather held off and their wedding was graced with soft grey clouds and delightfully cool fall breezes. What more could you ask for?

I cannot tell you how special it is when a bridesmaid chooses to book me as her own wedding photographer! Shelby and Trey's wedding was everything they could have dreamed. Despite the threat of rain, only blue skies and dramatic clouds graced their day.

And what a day it was! Beautiful October skies, one of the most fun wedding parties I've had the pleasure of working with, a romatic candlelit dinner, all followed by a fun party (with the bride making an appearance as DJ!).

I don't think we could have asked for a more picture-perfect day for Jessica & Joey. Who knew that a meeting in eight grade could lead to such a romantic love story? (Peep that Jenga piece from Joey!)

It was a full day. too! Olde Town Athletic Club and St Ann's Catholic Church are a little ways apart, and the light kept changing on us, from clouds moving in and out, to direct sun during family photos, and every tricky situation in between. I've never been so grateful to have years of experience with difficult light to lean on, and Jessica and Joey still ended up with photographs that are absolutely dreamy.

Weddings like theirs leave me feeling so fulfilled and in awe that I get a front row seat to the first day of this chapter in their lives. One day, they'll tell their children or grandchildren about this day, with the same smiles and warmth as when they told me their story up until now. One day, they'll look back at these photos and remember the hugs, the tears, and that feeling of indescribable joy.

What's better than an evening spent in golden sunlight, wandering a beautiful garden? Spending it with an amazing couple you've waited an entire year to photograph! A great engagement session should feel fun, playful, and always be followed by a date night out (you look amazing, so why not!). After absolutely nailing their engagement session, Ashley & John did exactly that! We had the best time together and I can't wait to photograph their wedding in Charleston SC next year!

And when I meet such wonderful couples such as L & J, work feels like play; like spending time with friends; like joy and laughter in warm sunlight.

I'm also always amazed at how much each couple's personality affects and shapes their photos and the feel of their engagement session, even when I revisit places like Hills and Dales over and over. It never feels like a copy and paste!
