What foundation or spring system is in your furniture matters. A lot actually. Not all are created equal. The types of foundation are; 8-way hand tied, webbing, individual inter-coil (not as common) sinuous wiring (very common).

8-way: has been around for centuries and created for King Loise the XVIII to have the most comfortable furniture in all the land. This system is used in heirloom quality furniture. Not inexpensive but hands down comfort abides here.

Webbing; I see this in modern furniture frames where the spring system must be narrow, so the frame can be sleek. American Leather out of Texas is one of the companies to use this type system.

Sinuous wiring: Has your butt ever gone to the floor on a sofa? This is why. The gage of the steel makes all the difference, how close the wires are placed to each other, and placed edge to edge. This laundry list makes all the difference in how it will sit and how long the furniture will last. This system is used in throw away furniture and high-end.

This is some of the knowledge I bring to the table when guiding you to the right furniture for your home or office. Let's lift up the hood and look inside, so you know what you are spending your money on. Contact me for your appointment today
