I sold this beauty yesterday, (the rug not the car)and the customer, who is a huge hooked rug fan, told me there is nowhere within miles and miles to buy these handcrafted rugs. It really is a lost art.
These are handmade by my sister, Joan Hull Strausbaugh of Biglerville Pennsylvania. She chooses her designs, then finds the colors she needs in discarded wool skirts or jackets. If she can’t find the right color, she hand dyes wool to get the color she wants.
From there, the wool is cut into strips which she pulls through linen to complete the design. Obviously, she is a dedicated artist, because that’s a lot of WORK!!
Come see the selection of heirloom quality rugs and other items she has made. Look for the little sign which reads “My Sister is a Hooker”!

After I decapitated the pumpkin heads, I cleaned and repainted the naked posts. The I decorated with lanterns or antlers, greenery, and we have some nice Holiday Decor!
