This bar cabinet just wasn't ready to go home yet. I wasn't satisfied with the interior or its vibe! It was going to a gorgeous house built in 1929 and the owners had restored much of the original charm. I remembered that her mom had named the house Roxie. And we had looked at flappers when brainstorming. That was Prohibition so I imagined her house as a speakeasy. A speakeasy called Club Roxie! An imbibing establishment since 1929. A visitor favorite with a unique mix of famous and infamous clientele. Live jazz and entertainment acts. Legendary nightlife. Inspired beverages. During Prohibition, flyers and cards were passed to tell those who were looking where to find a drink, a speakeasy. So I created a flyer for Club Roxie featuring a flapper, a vintage green settee, and that pink martini. And the flyer is displayed it on and in the cabinet. Please read more in the captions.

WESTERN TOILET LID
Yes, we are even going to refurbish her toilets! We've done her bathroom mirrors, cabinets, and vanities so why not! Her home is stunning and so very COOL!
My customer had seen this idea online and wanted me to create something similar. She brought in two new wooden toilet seats with lids. This first one features authentic cowhide, tooled leather fabric, and lots of nailheads. And she told me the guys in her house are already accustomed to putting he lid down!

Western Update
My longtime client brought this nice, hand-hone pine side table in for a new look. (See the before pic is #5 below). After browsing prints of many cactus 🌵 options, some Aztec vectors, and a couple cowgirls, she decided on the vintage cowboy gear ❤️ as the focal point for this piece. It's embellished with versions of tooled leather and spotted bull hide with nailheads. The hardware was updated with layers of paint and Rub n Buff, resulting in a grungy patina.

My client wanted her vintage radio cabinet turned into a bar. Scroll to see how we explored so many ideas and colors for a fun graphic... Pinup girls, rockabilly ladies, flappers, martinis, cigar bars, and cute animals! She and her husband loved the oil painting of their dog sitting at a bar. We paired this painting with a dark stained top and a bright, custom-mixed pea green.

Ivy, my 8 month old mini Australian shepherd, insists on doing her part in the AFTER pictures of this pair of refinished plant stands. When my client brought these in, they were a light wood. She wanted the stain to be darker and to emphasize the detailed vines of flowers on all four sides. In the after pictures, you can see we went with a dark mixed stain with a glossy finish for the table top. The legs and details are done in Heirloom Traditions' Iron Gate. After painting the details black, I highlighted them with HT's color called Patina. To emphasize the flowers even more and tie them to the stained top, I top coated them in the same glossy finish. I used General Finishes Flat Out Flat, a matte topcoat, for the legs. They are quite striking in person! 😍👍😁

My client brought her mom's vintage vanity bench in to be updated. The legs and the base were a worn out gold. To complement the beautiful marble top, we chose Fusion's Woodwick with dry brushed highlights in Fusion's Casement and Dixie Belle's Burlap. I'm working on a vintage oval mirror to complete the vision she has for her granddaughter to play at her house.

My clients purchased this awesome French Cowhide and Leather set on Facebook Marketplace (3rd picture). The wood frame was black with chips and cracks in the wood that needed glue and clamps. They wanted it brown to match their decor and they did not care for the bright gold nailheads and gold highlights.

The repairs were made, it's stained in Cognac and the nailheads are antique bronze. Looks brand new and ready for the new addition they are working on.
