Last week Trent at Keowee Custom Furniture trusted us with his. Claro walnut. Over 400 pounds. Shipped all the way from California to our shop in South Carolina.

It took a full day on our 6x12 CNC, and we got it done.

Farewell Baby Dylon! 🪵

Over the past year, Dylan put in more than 1,700 hours with us. He came in with no work experience, and in that time he learned everything from how to answer the phone politely and talk with customers (we’re still proud of that one 😄) to how to build and finish a dining table from start to finish.

One of the most rewarding parts of running a small business is getting to be part of that kind of growth. Whether or not Dylan ends up a woodworker for life, he’s leaving here knowing how to work professionally, take pride in his craft, and treat people right. Those skills go with him wherever he goes, and it means a lot to know we had a hand in that.

Dylan, thank you for all your hard work. We wish you the very best in your new job and whatever comes next. You’ll always have a spot at the M2 table.

I love when I get to build cool things! This is one of my favorite builds, the Morty Bookcase!

With its through mortise and tenon joinery for the shelves, plus the live edges, and the contrast color tones, this thing is definitely a statement piece!

A huge thank you to the students and chaperones who came through the shop these past couple of weeks! 🌲🪚

We got to walk everyone through what it’s like to run a sawmill and lumberyard alongside a furniture workshop — how a log becomes a board, how we kiln-dry our lumber right here in-house, and how that wood turns into solid, handmade furniture.

Honestly, the best part was the questions. The kids especially were locked in, curious, and asking things that made us stop and think. That kind of interest is exactly why we love doing this.

Sharing what we’re passionate about with our community is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. If you’re a teacher, scout leader, homeschool group, or just a curious crew who’d like to come see how lumber is made and furniture gets built, send us a DM or give us a call — we’d love to have you out.
