Honey Bug Sewing

With summer winding down I'm able to get back to my sewing room. Here is my project this weekend.

Alice in wonderland School play costume.

Mountain man costume for school play. I found a brown shirt and a women's fur coat at our local Arch store. On the fur coat, I took off the collar and sleeves to make a vest. For the brown shirt, I unpicked the seam of the arms and tied them back together with a fringe. I then added grommets and a leather tie to the front neckline. I restored this antique quilt. It was so well loved, it was falling apart. It has special memories where Colette and her mom had hand stitched together the white squares. The smaller orange squares were the original backing. It was given to me completely unpicked. Since the original blanket was so paper thin I had to put interfacing on everything and I sewed it back together. I used stitch in the ditch method to tie the front and back together.

Alteration of home coming dress. This dress needed the v-neck to come up (It was to the waist line), a liner to be hand sewn in between the shorts and sheer, and ties needed to be added to keep the top of the dress from slipping.

I forgot to take the after picture, but imagine this dress without the fuzzy white sleeves and bottom of the dress.

Mikey was super surprised by his graduation gift. She saved baby clothes, toddler, all the way up to high school clothes. She thought by the time of his graduation, she would know how to sew.lol. At least she knew of a good seamstress. She asked me to make a random quilt as a surprise. This is what came out.😁

A customer wanted her dress to be shortened and straps added to an old bridesmaid dress to turn it into a fun cocktail dress. I use the material I hemmed off to make the straps. I think it looks great!

Toddler summer dresses front and back. I made these for my friend for her nieces. My little girl wanted to keep them for herself, and was sad that they're were not for her.Lol
