It's important that people know that just because I help parent's sleep train their children that I am not against co-sleeping. In fact I co-slept with my daughter for 4 months and I loved it while she slept in her bed for naps. I am here to help parents who are too tired, too frustrated, too resentful because they themselves are not sleeping. I help the parents that are sleeping in separate rooms because there is no room for everybody in the bed or don't enjoy a "family bed". I've helped people who have called me and said, "My marriage is falling apart, help!" Or, "I can't work because I am so exhausted". I have never, and won't ever try to convince someone not to co-sleep. I only help those that ask for my help. I respect and support everyone's choice.💤💤💤💓

I appreciated this article about how to raise competent, independent children. It's for older children, but important nonetheless.

So often I am asked to recommend products, parenting books, children's books and toys, so I have put together an Amazon store that has all of my personal favorites in all of these categories. The best things to register for if you are just starting out, parenting books to keep you on your toes, children's books for babies, toddlers and preschoolers (I aml adding some for older kids too), and all my must have favorites, all in one place! Let me know what you think, if I've left out anything, or if you have a fave I might want to add. The link takes you straight to Amazon where you can purchase directly from my list.
Enjoy!

As a Sleep Consultant and a mother I can tell you that babies are certainly capable of soothing themselves to sleep before 9 months! I started working with my second child at two weeks old and gradually giving her the opportunity and time to put herself to sleep. At first she could only do it once in a while, then 30 percent of the time, then 50 percent, then 80 percent. By four months old she was soothing herself to sleep all the time. If you start early and don't get into bad habits then it can be a beautiful, smooth kind of transition. But even if you have fallen victim to bad habits, young babies can learn!

Daylight Savings is fast approaching! Most people are thrilled at the idea that their children will be sleeping until a later hour, but if you actually need your child to wake at the current time then start tonight by putting them to be 20 minutes earlier, another 20 min Friday and another 20 min Saturday night. Then on Sunday night put them to bed at the regular time.
