"Dorm shopping PSA: Twin and Twin XL are NOT the same size.

Twin XL is 5 inches longer, and it's what most college dorms use. Regular twin sheets on a Twin XL bed = corners popping off at 2am. Every. Single. Night.

Before you order anything for the spring semester:
- Check your bed size with housing
- Default to Twin XL sheets and toppers
- Tag the friend who bought the wrong sheets last year

Dorm Shopping Tip: Twin and Twin XL Are Not the Same Size

Twin XL beds are 5 inches longer than standard Twin, and they're the size most college dorms use. Regular Twin sheets won't stay put on a Twin XL mattress, so it's worth checking sizes before you buy.

Your Twin XL checklist:
✔️ Twin XL sheets (two sets makes laundry day easier)
✔️ Twin XL mattress topper
✔️ A comforter sized for Twin XL

Don't forget the topper. Dorm mattresses tend to be thin and firm, and the right topper can make a real difference in how well you sleep.

Sleepyhead toppers are made to fit Twin XL dorm beds, with cooling gel foam and non-slip straps that keep everything in place.
