A new edit of collectible design is headed to Palm Springs. 🌴

This fall, we’re bringing a thoughtfully selected mix of sculptural seating, iconic cabinetry and distinctive modern furnishings to the Palm Springs Modernism Fall Show.

After a wonderful experience at the February show, Sleek Modern is returning to the Palm Springs Modernism Fall Show with another curated collection of distinctive vintage and modern design.

Join us October 16–18 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and discover an exciting selection of statement seating, iconic storage pieces, and collectible furnishings chosen especially for the show.

Circular forms. Diagonal accents. Burgundy, black and chrome.

Attributed to Donald Deskey, this 1980s Streamline Moderne Revival suite pairs sculptural curves with graphic metal detailing. Burgundy and black Naugahyde upholstery and chrome accents unite one sofa and two armchairs, offered together as a three-piece suite.

Our first Vintage & Design Market—and what a wonderful debut it was! ✨

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, spent time with us, admired our pieces, shared kind words, and supported the incredible community of vendors at L.A Vintage & Design Market. It was such a pleasure meeting so many fellow design lovers.

A very special thank-you to Deirdra for welcoming Sleek Modern and for bringing this event together with so much professionalism, warmth, and care—and to all the amazing volunteers whose hard work made the day run so smoothly.

We’re grateful to have made our debut at such a thoughtfully curated gathering at Mica Studios and to have shared the experience with so many talented vendors.

Architecture in rosewood.

Brown–Saltman made texture part of the architecture.

In the early 1940s, the company promoted Combed Wood—a deeply grooved plywood surface identified in period advertising as Weldtex. Its repeated channels transformed an industrial sheet material into something graphic and tactile, catching light across the furniture’s edges.

Period advertising credits Paul Frankl and David Saltman with Brown–Saltman’s Combed-wood furniture program. This dresser is attributed to Frankl within that documented design context.

A disciplined grid, softened by concave drawer fronts.

Dating to the early 1940s, this wide, low eight-drawer dresser pairs a warm wood façade with deeply grooved Combed Wood, diagonally turned corners, and eight dark sculptural metal pulls.

Attributed to Paul Frankl for Brown–Saltman, it reflects the expressive material experimentation of California modernism—precise in structure, tactile at its edges, and quietly architectural in presence.
