USC's surrounding community of South LA is a vibrant and beautiful neighborhood of schools and families. CCU is interested in bridging the economic divides between our campus and community - come learn and empower yourself! Check out the videos on our website, and attend weekly meetings. We also help organize the Nook, a monthly open mic night for community and USC artists, poets, musicians, and storytellers.
Kristina Raspe of USC Real Estate announces construction of Phase One of The Village will begin December 2013 and contain 3,000 beds priced from $500-$650. Originally the plan for phase one included just 1,600 beds. Our hard work at CCU advocating for increased affordable student housing has paid off!

Good Neighbors to aim for $1.4 million University leadership said it wants to expand the scope of USC’s biggest charity fundraising campaign, “The Good Neighbors Campaign,” after the last academic year was successful, despite the economic downturn.

Students irate at slow alert time of DPS Students expressed outrage that Dept. of Public Safety took 36 hours to send out a crime alert after two USC students were shot early Sunday morning outside of a party at an apartment complex at 1241 West 37th Place.
