Original KC table from our first photo shoot in 1999.
I designed this piece after procuring a Scarpa table for an interior design project in Brentwood. I was so enamored with the proportions, and the profile was so beautiful within a quiet space that I began the core collection for the studio with my own version.

We’ve made some adjustments over the years, but the OG design above is still Simon’s favorite. And, as with many of the original pieces, we still have it.

Fabricated in solid birch and shown with one of my early hand painted screens.

Custom cocoon trundle for a very special Los Angeles home. For this iteration, we added a side drawer to hold linens and other essentials. Solid walnut. Cream cushions. An exceptionally beautiful and utilitarian piece.

Today is my birthday. And it’s the longest day of the year. Well, that’s what my dad always said to make me feel special. 😌

Today I got to visit the home and studio of Georgia O’Keeffe in Abiquiú, a profoundly inspiring and emotional experience.

My heart is full!

I remain grateful for all of it: my health, family, friends, studio, animals, and ability to continue my making my art. And yes, even my age. Every year a blessing, and every new wrinkle earned in earnest.

I enjoyed the distinct honor of working on Lorcan O’Herlihy’s THE BOX in 2008. The building had just been completed and all units were a clean slate. My client allowed me the wonderful freedom to create a colorful yet minimal palette that balanced out the framework and chartreuse accents. Such a space! With its wall of windows and bright natural light, I chose iconic pieces (Kjaerholm, Noguchi, Nakashima) to support the significant architecture. This is also where my Kings Road sofa was born; I designed it for the client to comfortably lounge and read scripts, and it’s a design that’s stuck! See last slide.

Mr. O’Herlihy passed away this week at the age of 66. It leaves a tremendous loss in California architectural community, and I will forever remain grateful for my time on the HABITAT 825 building. I worked on this home a decade ago: interior design, furniture, and all custom design work. It is a magnificent space. The clients requested an update, honoring the original architecture (always important) but with a masculine twist and a feeling consistent with what our studio is known for…timeless, understated design with warmth and resonance. I believe the kitchen is my favorite room. There were space challenges which excited me, and to be given an open opportunity to use local vendors like and was a blessing.

It is now up for sale. And NOW is a great time to see her in all her glory. Design giants created unbelievably beautiful gardens. Really, this is architecture that Los Angeles is known for…the location, the story, the nostalgia, and the views. It’s a jaw dropping example of why this is known as the city of the angels.

26 years ago today, this beautiful baby girl made her long awaited appearance in our lives. It was a magical pregnancy, a magical birth and it’s been an amazing journey being her mama. What a day! June 1, 2000.
