Kilted Moose Outdoor Furniture I started out by wondering if I could build something I saw on the internet that I liked.

How did this finally come out right? Funny story. If you use the correct bit to do your piece, it comes out much better! What's worse? The files were saved with the correct V carve bit, 60 degrees or 90 degrees. That 30 degrees makes a big difference. So, use the 60 degree bit on the 60 degree file! Mind blowing right?

I added a distressed look to the flag. After looking at some YouTube videos and trying some ideas, I went my own way, 60 grit sandpaper followed by the blow torch!

Installed and hooked up the Peter Romano sw***er dust boot on the today. What a difference! The original set up was a $30 dust boot from Amazon and a shop vac, which couldn't keep up. Now the 4 inch hose is hooked into my shop dust collection system, which is on the other corner of my garage.

Every step forward leads to a step back. I enlarged a carve file to the size I needed but now it's carving too deep. By carving too deep the fine details are completely lost.

But, another step forward, while I worked on other projects the CNC was up carving catch all trays and wh***ey smokers for me! ***eylife It took me 3 days to make 12 smokers before, I made 6 today alone!

For a guy who doesn't like scary movies I do get my on! Meet Earle! My drinking pirate! I need to work out a few more kinks before I'm truly pleased with him, but not too bad from looking at an idea and making it work.

Making progress with the CNC and Vectric V-carve pro. Like anything, there's a learning curve. But it was nice to make a handful of catch all trays and wh***ey smokers this weekend while I made other stuff at the same time. Talk about a productivity boost!

As for the learning curve, I obviously need better dust collection based on picture three! I'm open to suggestions as my shop vac isn't getting it done. Based on picture 4, make sure your piece is nice and flat, then make sure you run the right file!

Something fun this way comes! Due to an unfortunate stocking error at my local big box store I ended up with 3 cords I needed and 1 I didn't. If only there was an actual person at the check out and I wasn't left to my own lack of training. In other news, I am the self proclaimed employee of the month at self check out! 2 months in a row!

In other developments, not one, but 2 fun and new projects in the works! I put these wheels on a pair of 4x4's and they're a life saver! It definitely made cutting this massive w**e barrel in half super easy. A good base of The Flex Seal® Family is a great way to start.

Its that time of year! Cranking out the small barrel Jack O'lanterns! I had a ton of interest in these at the last madeinnhexpo. Who needs one?

Gotta give a big shout out to Vectric for the awesome customer service. Two emails and I'm up and running! When I started with my original 7-watt J-Tech I'd test run everything on a piece of scrap plywood. Guess what I'm now doing on those same scraps!?! The learning curve is still steep. I got used to not having to hold anything down with Lightburn. Can't do that with a router! Oops! I'm looking forward to improving with it quickly.

I'm sure there's a simple fix here. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is! I go thru the process of zeroing X,Y and Z like I should yet the machine runs the cut well above the piece. Anyone smart with Vcarve? Vectric

You know, sometimes I amaze myself! I saw a picture of a cabinet that would fit my space, but it didn't completely fit. Then I saw another part that would work, I just had to incorporate them together while figuring out the size I needed to make it work. Today it all came together!

Time to start working on there bar top!

Making more progress today! When I started the accent wall I was concerned it might have been too much contrast. Obviously, I was mistaken! The front of the bar is cedar as well, so it'll fit perfectly!

Getting much closer to finishing the back half of my bar! Gotta add the accent strips into the black middle piece, shelves and the fronts bit that's small stuff at this point!

Also, delivered the porch swing finally. Looks great in its new location!
