I’m joining 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀 | 𝗗𝗕𝗦𝗚 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁 and Jeremy Powers during Dallas Design Week for a conversation about what it actually takes to run a successful design studio. The systems, the data, the operational headaches, the lessons learned the hard way and how we can all work a little smarter.

Basically, pretty rooms are great. Profitable, well run businesses are better.

Kate Lester Interiors is looking for a talented Part Time Interior Designer to join our team and help manage projects within our growing Development Division.

This is a great role for someone who loves the technical side of design just as much as the pretty stuff. You understand plans, construction and documentation, you’re insanely organized, and you know how to keep multiple projects moving at once.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• AutoCAD drafting + drawing production
• Space planning + plan review
• Interior finish + material selections
• Tile + slab specifications and layouts
• Plumbing, lighting + hardware selections
• Cabinetry + millwork development
• Project specifications + documentation
• Coordination with builders, vendors + the KLI team
• Site visits + construction coordination as needed
• Managing multiple development projects, deadlines + deliverables

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Minimum 2 years of professional interior design experience
• Strong AutoCAD skills (and yes, we really mean it)
• Experience producing construction drawings + documentation
• Solid understanding of residential construction
• Extremely organized + detail oriented
• Comfortable managing projects independently
• Great communicator + team player
• High end residential, new construction or development experience is a major plus

THE DETAILS:

20 to 25 hours per week
Part time
IN OFFICE at our Manhattan Beach studio
This is not a remote position

We’re looking for someone who wants to become an integral part of the KLI team and take real ownership of our Development Division projects.
