I had a dear friend come visit today who brought me these beautiful flowers (AND an empanada that was swoon worthy!) But her words were what hit my heart. She said “I saw this flower and it made me think of you, it’s so bright and big and colorful” she went on to say other lovely things, but I was lost from her first comments. Just so touched, so flattered and so grateful. This is your reminder, telling someone something simple about why you love them is the greatest mood lifter. And if you toss in a fresh empanada? I’m trying to find the words. I am so deeply grateful for all of you. Absolutely overwhelmed by the love, support, food, flowers, visits, texts and emails. So blessed. THANK YOU! I am in the clear. Now it’s all just healing and maybe being able to stand upright someday. 🤣 Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m the luckiest.

Friends, it has been a TIME! Short version, I have a tumor on my uterus and Thursday they are going in to remove it and everything around it. Full scoopage. Ovaries, tubes, uterus and tumor, cervix and two old fibroids. The whole neighborhood. So mama’s gonna be bed bound for a bit. I know for sure WE WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY THE 15th and probably the 16th while Matt’s at the hospital with me. I could be in the hospital 2-5 days I’m told. Then in bed for a while. Matt will hold down the fort at the shop and you might meet some of my besties at the helm who have been so supportive to offer to help. So thanks for understanding if we are closed erratically for the next few weeks. **Please consider this your reminder that if you’re bloated, crampy or gassy post menopause don’t ignore it. My late mother did and she was gone at 64. I’m so lucky that for the past 22 years I have been poked, prodded and checked every year. Nine months ago my sonograms were clear, but because I’m a loud mouth, my doctors take me seriously. I’m in good spirits. So grateful to be in Boston and at one of the top three hospitals in the nation and that I have an incredible team ready to clean me out. My oncologist and I have joked that this tumor will make a nice pendant necklace to go with my ovaries earrings. 🤣 Pathology will be done post op, so we will take it as it comes. I’m team benign, but prepared if a challenge is ahead. Thanks for understanding. Thanks for your prayers. I’m feeling so lucky and grateful. And how do you like my MRI fashion moment?? 🤣
