Needed a way to secure my cables and such for work that would attach to my magnetic laptop shelf. So I came up with this idea and it was very educational. I definitely see ways that I can improve it next time. Every project is an opportunity to learn.

After obtaining a stitching pony that appeared to be of good quality, I found that the desk clamp was either faulty or subpar. After experimenting with the original sanding and JB welding, I decided to improvise a new shaft to attach it to my panavice, which has worked better than the original. However, I have been disappointed with several of Tandy's products recently, including this one, which has been troublesome since I bought it. Furthermore, the diamond stitching awl's blade broke within 24 hours, necessitating repair with JB weld. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I expect better quality.

I undertook a complex project involving a strap with a damaged handmade brass hook. The hook was attached using old furniture nails. Following numerous trials and thorough research, (and multiple prototype hooks that all shattered ) I managed to craft a replacement brass hook, reproducing the original's appearance and functionality as closely as I could. This project has been a great learning opportunity. You never know what lessons or skills you may need to complete a project. Spending hours pouring over forums and books on metallurgy wasn't something that I thought I'd do with leather work. In the end the feeling of achievement was well worth it.

You might remember this project from a while back. After I got my laser engraver I was asked to take it back to put my logo on it. So I did... I also cleaned it up, oiled it and sealed it.I added a few extra stitches for strength just for good measure and then put his name on it as a little surprise . I think it turned out really well and I'm glad that that I was able to make something that is benefiting someone and being carried and used daily. There's a unique feeling you give and you can make something by hand that could be sent out into the world and used and help people accomplish whatever goals they set out for that day. To have people rely on the things that you make a hold up to their day-to-day lives. I was trusted with such an opportunity and I feel honored. That's why I will always strive to provide the absolute best product and customer service and care that I am capable of.
