As students head back to school, Memphis City Beautiful is proud to partner with local schools to add fresh plantings and help create welcoming spaces for students, teachers, and families.

As part of the Division of Community Enhancement’s back-to-school efforts, departments across the Division have been working to enhance school surroundings and help create cleaner, more welcoming environments for the new school year.

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Jo Ann Street has passed away. Jo Ann was a passionate community advocate and volunteer who worked tirelessly to support Memphis City Beautiful programs and activities. Jo Ann especially loved her neighborhood parks, and she was a longtime participant in our Adopt A Park program, serving as an advocate for Hollywood, University, and Gooch Parks (HUG). She will be deeply missed!

Today Memphis city beautiful would love to express our greatest gratitude to Hope Church for partnering with us on 07/18/2026 to clean multiple blighted sites in the orange mound community. Volunteers picked up litter on vacant lots and neighborhood streets in efforts to keep Memphis cleaner .

We’re looking for dependable, service-oriented individuals who are committed to improving the quality of life throughout Memphis. If you have a valid driver’s license and enjoy working outdoors, we’d love to meet you.

On July 9, Memphis City Beautiful partnered with Urban Fellows for a successful community cleanup in the Orange Mound neighborhood. Under the leadership of Program Coordinator, Michelle Powell. More than 60 dedicated "Urbees" came together to beautify the community and demonstrate the power of collective service. Thank you to every volunteer who showed up ready to make an impact.
