In the last few years I have been finding more and more houses Chinese Tiles that are very pH sensitive. Spills can ruin the texture and/or color of the tile. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done to fix it. Best thing to do is to stay away from Chinese flooring.
I am always amazed at how much dirt a tile floor can hold.
