Susan Lee of Life On Its Side Studios is a fine artist specializing in black and grey portraiture in oil and watercolor. Her goal with each painting, whether it's a jazz great or a local New Orleans character, is to capture the personality and depth of each subject so they come alive. She is also an art educator, teaching by fine art to children and adults.

With teary eyes I say goodbye to the life-size Yarn Dealing Cat who sold his shady (but very high quality) yarn out of his overcoat for a few months here in the courtyard. He’s moving his operation out to Lakeview, where I’m sure he’ll steal hearts & do business just as well. 🫡🫡🫡
