Almost there. Still have to carve inset border fillet and then start fitting and adjusting before moving on to gilding. Traditional hand carved basswood, no power tools except for a bandsaw to cut out the shapes, 53” x 43” approx.

Still working on these reproduction pieces. The gilding has begun on the sunburst clock. The carving on the mirror frame is getting close to being finished.

Finally completed this project. West Gouldsboro Union Church etched glass replacements. Many pieces were broken and were replaced with reproduction pieces using the original star diaper pattern. Many thanks to Fiona Westphal of James Glass Studio in Brooklyn NY for the glass fabrication. The church is whole again. Stop by to take a look if you are in Downeast Maine.
