The fireplace was the starting point for this entire room.

When a client falls in love with a stone this beautiful, the design naturally evolves around it. The dramatic veining of the marble fireplace became the focal point of the space, setting the tone for a palette of warm oak millwork, soft textures, and subtle blush accents.

Rather than competing with the stone, every element was carefully selected to complement it—creating a living room that feels calm, timeless, and effortlessly elegant. The result is a space where craftsmanship, natural materials, and thoughtful details work together to elevate everyday living.

Designed for a classic Upper West Side apartment, this living room balances timeless architecture with a warm, contemporary aesthetic. Custom white oak millwork frames the original fireplace, creating a refined focal point while providing generous storage and display space. Soft neutral tones, sculptural furnishings, and layered textures bring a sense of calm sophistication, while subtle blush accents add warmth and personality.
