Mauritshuis houses a world-famous collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. Unfortunately, Rembrandt’s The Night Watch, 1642, was undergoing conservation work but it was interesting to see the conservators’ painstakingly remove and replace the varnish a millameter at a time.
