There is a real magic that happens when a home isn’t just decorated, but truly curated.
We had the pleasure of collaborating with Melissa Lee of Bespoke Only on this layered Brooklyn townhome, placing a number of distinct vintage rugs throughout the spaces.
What makes a project like this so deeply rewarding is the tension and harmony of building a collection. The synergy and play that happens between pieces, despite being from entirely different eras, regions, and weaving traditions, is the genius of any curator. There, the rugs stop acting as mere floor coverings and instead help to build the room’s narrative.

In 46 years, Rug & Kilim has only ever operated in one vertical. Introducing a curated bookstore as our second is a direct reflection of our institutional approach - always leading with education and a rigorous understanding of craft.
The library allows us to share relevant volumes alongside rug acquisitions, connecting the textile directly to its history.

For the presentation of Athena Calderone’s Assembler I, her debut furniture collection from () with The Future Perfect (), a unique sari silk production from Rug & Kilim’s textural volume anchors the space.
Processed and woven of a signature textural melange and upcycled from recycled silk, it is at once subtle and profoundly tactile. A fitting compliment to the sophisticated collection.

This monumental Austrian Savonnerie (c. 1920) stands as a towering achievement of the late Belle Époque period, capturing the transition from 19th-century opulence to the refined neoclassicism of the early 20th century.
The palette is a decadent symphony of warmth: a shimmering field of golden-yellow and honeyed ochre. The design reveals a rigorous vertical symmetry, where columns of scrolling acanthus leaves and stylized floral garlands rise upon an expansive olive-beige field.
A smart choice for both a dressed-up formal setting and a more relaxed contemporary look.
