Your workspace shouldn’t be the reason your back hurts.
Ergonomics isn’t just a “chair conversation.” It’s the full setup—how your seat supports posture, where your screen sits, how your arms rest, and whether your space lets you shift positions throughout the day.
Small changes add up fast: less discomfort, better focus, and fewer “long-day” aches that quietly impact productivity.
What’s the biggest comfort issue in your workspace right now? Chair support, monitor height, or desk setup?

The biggest misconception about hybrid work is that it automatically means “we need less space.”
Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn’t.
It depends on your seat model (desk sharing vs. assigned seating) and whether you’re planning for growth. What’s the one space your office never seems to have enough of—meeting rooms, focus rooms, or phone rooms?

Office fronts are becoming a project strategy, not just a design detail.
Our architectural wall division, Falkbuiltny, shared three shifts we’re seeing in how teams are designing and building faster (while protecting design intent).

Midst Table by Muuto for MillerKnoll.
A table like this is perfect for the kind of hybrid work people typically come in for—quick alignment, working sessions, and small team huddles. It comfortably supports 5–6 people in a more relaxed, non-traditional setup that still feels professional.
Does your team collaborate better in formal meeting rooms or in more casual setups like this?

Hybrid work is now an operating model, and your office needs to match it.
Before you touch a floor plan, it helps to clarify three questions:
→ What does your peak day look like (not the average)?
→ What’s your desired seat strategy (assigned, shared, or mixed)?
→ What are your growth assumptions over the next 3–5 years?
When those are clear, “hybrid” turns into something you can actually plan—and budget—for in terms of furniture procurement and workplace strategy.
What’s been the hardest part of hybrid planning for your team?

Chag Pesach Sameach from the Lane Office team 🍷
This month, we dug into the less glamorous side of workspace planning: budgets, reuse, and the questions that keep projects from going sideways.
In April, we’ll shift the conversation to how spaces feel—comfort, focus, and the little details that make a long day a little easier (including the ones that can contribute to back pain).
What’s the #1 thing in your workspace that affects your comfort, your chair, your desk setup, or how often you move throughout the day?
If there’s a workspace question or challenge you’d love us to unpack, leave a comment or send us a message: https://laneoffice.pulse.ly/fzl5enuomm

Approving an office furniture budget shouldn’t feel like signing off on a mystery number.
In our new article, we share 5 questions leaders can use as a practicality check before they say “yes”—from clarifying what’s truly furniture vs construction to avoiding sticker shock on finishes: “5 Questions to Ask Before You Approve Your Office Furniture Budget” → https://laneoffice.pulse.ly/7jzg8t6urc

If you only ask two questions before approving a furniture budget, make them these.
1️⃣ What does this space need to do for our people and our clients?
2️⃣ What part of the overall project budget is truly allocated to furniture?
Clarity here prevents many “surprise” conversations later.
If you’re planning a move or refresh, which answer would be harder for your team to nail down right now?

Last night, our CEO Mark Fischer attended the annual DIFFA Angels & Demons Gala, supporting DIFFA’s mission to fund housing, meals, and health services for underserved New Yorkers.
A highlight of the evening was a heartfelt speech from Fern Mallis, who received the DIFFA Lifetime Impact Award—an incredibly well-deserved honor for a true pioneer. Fern is a renowned fashion industry leader, the creator of New York Fashion Week, and often called the “godmother of fashion.”

Thank you, DIFFA, for the work you do and for bringing people together for such an important cause 🙌
