We got photos of two (small) moss walls we did for a client back in 2015! So proud of how far we have come and even more so of how well our moss holds up over time!

This year at BDNY, we were inspired by how designers are bringing natural textures into every space. From rich wood grains and smooth stone surfaces to soft, tactile fabrics, these elements add layers of warmth, depth, and character that instantly make a space feel more inviting. It’s all about creating environments that feel grounded, calming, and thoughtfully designed — spaces that welcome you in and make you want to linger.

We love seeing designers turn to natural elements for inspiration. Texture, tone, and organic materials create spaces that feel grounded, inviting, and full of quiet depth — a reminder that nature’s influence is always timeless.

✨ Branding + Biophilic Design. ✨

This detailed shot of Provence moss paired with a crisp white logo captures what we love most about moss branding — the balance of organic texture and clean modern identity.

Every moss logo we create is custom-cut in-house to reflect the essence of a brand, blending nature’s calm with a polished, professional finish. 🌿

Because a logo shouldn’t just represent who you are — it should feel like you.

Sometimes the most striking designs come from knowing when less is more. 🌱

This feature wall, composed of ten framed moss and plant gardens, proves that biophilic design doesn’t have to cover every inch to make an impact. Layered against a wood-like tile backdrop, each frame brings texture, depth, and a little moment of calm to the space.

Together, they create a lush focal point that feels alive and intentional — a reminder that nature-inspired design comes in all shapes and sizes. 💚

In hospitality design, it’s no longer just about how a space looks — it’s about how it feels.

Biophilic design is redefining hotels, transforming lobbies and lounges into calming, sensory experiences that reconnect guests with nature.

From preserved moss walls to lush artificial plant installations, these natural design elements elevate mood, inspire connection, and bring sustainability to the forefront — creating spaces that feel alive.

🌿 “Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish eaten, and the last stream poisoned, will we realize that we cannot eat money.” 🌿

This quote has echoed through generations as both a warning and a truth — a reminder that our greatest wealth lies not in what we build, but in what we preserve.

At Naturalist, this message is at the core of what we do. Every design, every wall, and every detail is rooted in the belief that nature is not a luxury — it’s a necessity. The spaces we create are a call to reconnect, to protect, and to remember that our well-being is inseparable from the health of the natural world.
Let’s continue to design with respect for the earth that sustains us. 🌍💚

We brought the spirit of the landscape indoors. 🌿

At Blair Academy, three organically shaped moss walls evoke mountains, lakes, and valleys — a serene topographic reflection of nature’s beauty within an academic space. The installation connects architecture with the landscape that inspired it, offering students and visitors a sense of calm amid campus life.

Crafted from sustainably harvested materials and entirely maintenance-free, the moss walls embody the essence of biophilic design — merging artistry, sustainability, and well-being.

🌿 Simplicity, Elevated...Bun Moss
There’s something timeless about the gentle contours and rich texture of Bun Moss. Whether used on a grand scale or in a small framed feature, its sculptural form brings a serene, organic rhythm to any space.

Many of our clients request single-species designs—and Bun Moss remains a favorite for its depth, durability, and elegance. We keep it stocked and ready, so whether you’re envisioning a large-scale installation or a subtle branded logo, we can bring your project to life quickly and beautifully.

Sometimes, less truly is more. 💚

🌿 World Mental Health Day 🌿
Today, we’re pausing to honor the connection between nature and mental wellness—and to remind you that you are not alone. 💚

Here are 3 simple ways to reconnect with nature and nurture your mind:
1️⃣ Find a local trail and go for a walk or hike.
2️⃣ Step outside and notice the small things—identify moss, plants, or fungi.
3️⃣ Bring nature indoors with greenery or (our favorite) a preserved moss wall. 🌱

Nature reminds us to slow down, breathe, and find beauty in growth—even the quiet kind.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available.

You are loved. You matter. And you are never alone. 💚

This preserved moss and plant wall—featuring the bold 1640 address—anchors the gym at this luxury residential building, setting the tone for wellness from the moment you step inside.

Designed to inspire both body and mind, the lush greenery adds a natural rhythm to the space, bringing balance to every rep, stride, and stretch. Because wellness isn’t just about how we move—it’s also about the environments that motivate us.
