What does it mean to create? For Elodie Michaud and Rebecca Fezard of , it is an act of care: a chance to do things differently and give overlooked materials a second life.
Working at the intersection of design, research and craftsmanship, the duo transform discarded leather offcuts from France’s maroquinerie industry into Leatherstone©: a richly tactile material made without petrochemicals, pigments or synthetic binders. What emerges is neither leather nor stone, but something entirely new - shaped through experimentation, ancestral gestures and an unwavering commitment to preservation.
Their practice is guided by a simple but radical conviction: that the materials we overlook still carry stories, potential and beauty. Through each piece, proposes another way of making - one where innovation and ecology are not opposing forces, but allies.
It is precisely this dialogue between technical mastery, material invention and savoir faire that the has championed for more than two decades through the Prix Liliane Bettencourt pour l’Intelligence de la Main®. A distinction that continues to spotlight the extraordinary vitality of contemporary craft.
Now on view at Invisible Collection New York, ’s sculptural Tufo Table invites a closer look at what design can become when care, experimentation and material intelligence converge.

In this limited-edition work at Invisible Collection New York, reimagines the trumeau - the carved and gilded mirrors that once crowned mantelpieces in aristocratic interiors. Here, the mirror is no longer a single reflective surface, but fragmented into slender vertical slats, creating the illusion of suspended reflections floating in space. Shifting perspectives and subtle depths emerge throughout the day as light moves across each panel, dancing off the thousands of Miyuki beads embroidered into the mirror’s rich walnut base.
This precious, patient savoir-faire was recognised by , who, in 2025, awarded Jean-Brieuc Chevalier Le Prix Liliane Bettencourt pour l’Intelligence de la Main® — an award established by to celebrate the vitality of the métiers d’art. Through this and many other philanthropic initiatives, the Foundation positions craftsmanship as a living discipline; shaped by innovation, transmission, and a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.

If Virginie Droulers speaks through pattern and print, Nathalie Droulers works in space and light.
In this salon at Invisible Collection New York, her architectural eye is ever-present. Be it in the precise, perfect lines of the Bouge-Toi Sofa, a jewel from Collezione Droulers whose clever backrest always makes room for one more. Or the soft yet sculptural Virgi Pouf, dressed here in Drawing XVI (b) 1974 by — one of five fabrics that faithfully reinterprets the visionary oeuvre of Anni Albers.

It is the gift of great artists to elevate our surroundings and expand our imaginary. Jules Leleu was one such figure, a remarkable ensemblier whose interiors captured the spirit and sensibility of his time.
Creating with the same ease grand salons for the most iconic French ocean liners and intimate spaces for President Eisenhower and Marilyn Monroe, Jules Leleu was one of those rare decorators who conceived each scheme as a total work of art. Today, the story of this fine French maison continues through his great-granddaughter, , whose pieces share that same instinct for refinement, proportion and atmosphere.
On the occasion of TEFAF, OUI Design! and NYCxDesign, we present an edit of ’s newest and most iconic works in our Upper East Side gallery: each crafted with the same extraordinary attention to detail that has defined the house for nearly a century. Stay tuned for more.
