Fraternal twins 👯‍♀️

These two powder baths are a great example of how much the materials you choose can change a space. The dark cabinetry and bold stone give one a moodier, more dramatic feel, while the lighter wood tones and warmer stone make the other feel soft and inviting.

We spend a lot of time thinking about how materials work together, not just how they look individually. The undertones, the textures, the way lighting changes a finish, and how everything feels when you walk into a room. I also love that these bathrooms have so much in common without feeling like copies of each other.

So, which twin would you choose?

Hi, I’m Emanie!

I’ve been working in residential design since 2017, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I believe a space should work just as beautifully as it looks.

I love a good floor plan, clever storage solutions, beautiful materials, and all those tiny details that make a house feel like your home. I’m a little particular, a little peculiar, endlessly curious, and probably spend way too much time thinking about how to make modern homes feel warm.

When I’m not designing someone else’s home, you can usually find me cooking in my own kitchen, tending to my garden, or dreaming up another project around my house!

Mosswood is a small, locally owned business, and that’s something I love about it. I get to work closely with my clients, really understand how they live, and create spaces that feel personal, thoughtful, and uniquely theirs. I’ve never had two clients that are exactly the same, so I will never have two spaces that are the same.

Whether you’re building something new, reimagining an existing space, or just trying to figure out where to start, I’d love to be part of it.

So, hi! It’s nice to meet you. Let’s design something together!

Today, we stepped away from the usual day-to-day at Mosswood Studios for something a little different!

I had the opportunity to volunteer with the NKBA Oklahoma at Build My Future, an incredible hands-on event that introduces high school students to careers in the trades and shows them just how many opportunities exist beyond the traditional college path.

I spent the day helping students create their own design flat lays, experimenting with different materials, colors, textures, and finishes to bring their ideas to life. And let me tell you, some of these kids have a serious eye for design!

Between their creativity, thoughtful questions, and curiosity about what it takes to run a small business, I walked away feeling just as inspired as I hope they did.

There’s something pretty special about getting to share what you love with the next generation.

A huge thank you to the NKBA and Central Oklahoma HBA for making opportunities like this possible. Already looking forward to next year!

Lowe's Home Improvement knows the way to a girl’s heart… Tiny containers! Is anyone else obsessed with mini organizing like I am? The little sparkly bucket is now a cupholder trashcan for my car. 💅💖

A little Saturday morning jaunt around town!

Started the morning with yoga with Cecilia Bridge at the Myriad Botanical Gardens, then we wandered over to the Scissortail Farmers Market for coffee, sweet treats, and a little shopping.

Coffee from Goodness Coffee, something sweet from doughkc_bakery, my usual purchases from Sweet Spirit Foods (🫶 these ladies forever!!), and a first-time stop at boykin_farms_oklahoma!

I’ve been coming to the Scissortail Farmers Market since it opened and still try to make it over every chance I get. It never gets old!

One of my favorite things about being a small business owner is getting to support other local small businesses whenever I can. There are so many talented people making really good things right here in OKC, and this is one of my favorite ways to spend a morning off!

Entry-level cabinets in million-dollar homes? Not on my watch!

Just as all homes are not created equal, neither are cabinets. And when you’re investing this much into a home, cabinetry isn’t the place to suddenly shop like it’s an entry-level build.

Quality cabinetry comes down to more than the door style or color. Construction, materials, hardware, finish, functionality, longevity, warranty, and details all matter.

The cabinetry should match the caliber of the home.

One of my favorite kitchens in SoSA! ✨

Proof that a kitchen doesn’t need to be huge to have presence. Sometimes the tighter spaces are where thoughtful design matters most.
