Great event for a great cause last night at Art for Opportunity! A fantastic way to highlight local artists and raise money for the amazing work that Maine Needs does in our community 🎨🖼️💪

My most Maine project ever? Custom waterproof cushions for a granite bench in this gorgeous midcoast setting 🦞🌊🪡

Studio update - sample storage! One of the most important steps in selecting a fabric for upholstery is being able to see/feel fabrics in person. Which means I end up with a LOT of fabric samples - here’s how I’m *attempting* to keep them organized

My lovely mom passed away last week. She was diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer in June and we lost her 10 weeks later. I’m so grateful I got to spend a lot of time with her in NY this summer, reliving lots of memories and saying all the important things.

I left the corporate workforce for a lot of reasons, but one of them was that I wasn’t there when I lost my brother to cancer 10 years ago. I was giving a presentation to interior designers in Philadelphia; I have no idea what the presentation was about, and I’m sure no one else does either. I wanted control of my time, and to be able to prioritize the things that were most important to me.

A huge bonus of owning my own business are things like I was able to meet my parents in New Orleans last fall to see Paul McCartney in concert, and meet my mom in New York City for breakfast at Tiffany’s. Travel was her love language, quality time is mine and I feel so grateful that we were able to have so much of both.

I know I’m in an incredibly fortunate situation to get to do these things, and it was also extremely intentional to create a life for myself in which I get to do what I love and also decide where my most valuable resource – time - goes to 💜

Hi Hello!👋🏼 A little intro post for those who are new around here. I’m Stephanie Jones Douglass of jones/douglass design - I have an affinity for color, fun fabrics, disco balls and helping people create spaces they love ✨🪡🎨

Your home should make you happy! My dining area brings me a little bit of joy every time I look at it, and we can all use as many little bits of joy as possible these days.

Would other people like it? Don’t know, don’t really care - my main design philosophy is to do what you love and want to look at everyday, and I love helping people figure that out for their spaces ✨

This recliner/swivel/glider was functional and super comfy but was looking a bit meh 🫤

The client & I picked this fabric together to reupholster it with and both absolutely love how fun it turned out 🤩
