🐝 edit: forgot to mention it is likely from early 1900’s !
Been away on vacation and didn't have the chance to post my latest refinished piece, so let’s catch up.
Carrie and her husband brought an old wardrobe that belonged to her Grandparents. It is a very interesting piece known as a “Knockdown “ construction method. Where as the piece is fully disassembled into flat panels. Panels are placed and secured with large dowels, no screws or nails. It still has the original shipping label on it. I received it disassembled which the first 5 before pictures are from Carrie.
A good cleaning and mold removal was done first. Scrapping and sanding off the old finish, some glueing repairs. Cleaned the wheels and sprayed the metal. I stained the outside with the color “dark walnut” and some areas added the color “ebony “ over it. The whole piece was coated with polyurethane inside and out.
Thank you Carrie !!
