We recommend that you have your crane operators test the controls of any equipment they operate at the start of each shift. If any of the controls are not functioning properly, it is important to repair or adjust them before the crane resumes operations.

Since cranes are used to lift heavy items, it's vital that the items are perfectly positioned in the right spot. That's why the crane operator and signal person make sure they understand cranes perfectly and follow signals to place loads in exactly the right spot.
