🚵🏽 🧳 Thank you to everyone who filled out our Bicycle Trips & Touring survey! Here’s a snapshot of our findings:

1. 92.7% of you are planning a multi-day bike trip in the next 12 months — including 23.6% who have already booked one.

2. The single thing most likely to get you on a bike trip? Someone to ride with. Nearly 1 in 4 of you named finding the right companion as your biggest obstacle.

3. When it comes to discovering new routes, you trust each other more than anyone else. Word of mouth from fellow cyclists is now your #1 information source — ahead of dedicated cycling websites, social media, and tourism boards.

4. The Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Towpath are your benchmark trails — but 30% of you have never heard of the Erie to Pittsburgh route, and nearly 1 in 4 has it on their bucket list.

Thank you to , , & for providing prizes! And now for the winners….. 🥁

Donate to Coach Peter and Jamaica’s Young Cyclists’ U.S. Journey, organized by Arlyne Salcedo 05/26/2026

Friend of the PBE, Peter Aldridge is working hard to get young Jamaican cyclists to the MACC Metro Atlanta Cycling Club One Love event and the Georgia Championship Criterium.

About Peter and the fundraising goal: Coach Peter Aldridge, a three-time Olympian, has dedicated his life to growing cycling in Jamaica. Renowned for his grassroots coaching, Coach Aldridge trains everyone—from young juniors to women and girls, recreational riders, and elite racers—building not only athletic skill but also integrity, teamwork, and determination.

This summer, Coach Peter’s next mission is to take five promising young Jamaican cyclists to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete at the MACC Metro Atlanta Cycling Club One Love event and the Georgia Championship Criterium. To make the trip possible, the team must raise funds to cover race registration, visa fees, airfare with bike transport, lodging, airport transport, and meals. The sooner the funds are raised, the better pricing can be secured for flights and accommodation. If visas are delayed or the race is canceled, donations will go toward Coach Peter’s ongoing development projects in Jamaica.

Beyond the race, Coach Aldridge’s “Pedal for Power” partnership with the Jamaican Tourism Board promotes bike safety, cycling tourism, and healthy lifestyles. He also leads free skill camps, youth helmet giveaways, and school safety classes. Many of his athletes pedal long distances from rural parishes just for the chance to train with him—and they leave with much more!

Every contribution helps Jamaican cyclists chase their dreams and represent their island on the world stage. Let’s help Coach Peter give them that opportunity.

Welcome back to the Squad, 🥳 Ted’s bio is so on point I wasn’t going to add anything to it 😂 (I have to say though, he is my go to “phone a friend” with tech/mechanical issues after my brother and dad and he does have a serious side that’s wrapped in goodness and sincerity. You may or may not see it… 😜)

Joining the Squad for his third year, Ted can usually be found on a poorly thought out course, covered in mud and maybe a little blood (often his own), smiling ear to ear and laughing. With a background in mountain biking and gravel with just enough road to connect the dirt sections, he prioritizes a good story over a record time, and a great snack over either.

A competent shadetree mechanic and constant tinkerer, Ted maintains the family fleet for his two daughters and wife, and loves nothing more than logging some miles with his family. He believes that bikes are machines that build communities and that cycling is a large enough tent for everyone. Often heard before he is seen, he’d love to talk about it over a cold beverage!

It’s finally summer here in PA and the gravel is so good! Repping (peep the back of the jersey) and already thinking about where I’ll ride gravel in the winter. Comment or DM if you’re interested in a winter gravel escape to reggae paradise with hosts, yours truly and 🇯🇲 🚵‍♀️

Shane Sellers is a third year member of the PBE squad. Shane’s passions for cycling culture is the intersection between function and art resulting in his Yakimono Bike projects. He has almost one of every type of bike and frequently builds projects around blending handmade pottery and cycling. In recent years he has collaborated with to create unique bike builds and pottery that have been featured in The Radavist, , Bikeradar and Blue Lug youtube channel to name a few. Loving so many bikes also means he loves any terrain, from chunky mtb to smooth pavement to pump tracks and everything in between.

Shane is our resident potter, collab expert, bike donor and much more. He adds a lot to the Squad and it’s all good ❤️

In Memoriam: In honor of Ross Willard, founder of Recycle Bicycle, committed advocate for bike riding, safety - TheBurg 05/12/2026

So very sad to hear about the passing of Ross Willard. He was a long time volunteer and supporter of the Expo. Every year he’d ensuing me asking if he could promote the expo in Harrisburg. Reading this tribute shows how many people in his community and beyond that he touched with his energy and goodwill. He will surely be missed and wishing his friends and family comfort during this time.

In Memoriam: In honor of Ross Willard, founder of Recycle Bicycle, committed advocate for bike riding, safety - TheBurg Over the weekend, Harrisburg lost one of its most dedicated and charismatic public advocates, Ross Willard. Ross was the founder and force behind Recycle Bicycle, which gave away hundreds, perhaps thousands, of bikes over the course of the past 25 years—mostly to people who, otherwise, couldn’t ...
