Minima is Philadelphia’s premier destination for high-design furniture, home accessories and interior solutions. Located in the city’s Old City district, Minima’s gallery showroom is curated to reflect the historic and current strides in avant-garde modern interior design. Opened in 1999, Minima’s aim is to continually introduce Philadelphians to the best in home couture the world has to offer. Founded by artist and interior designer Eugenie Perret and run with partner and industrial designer Michael Schmick, Minima offers cutting-edge design expertise and custom-created living solutions.

The genesis of Serenissimo revisits the craft of Encaustic art, or Venetian stucco — a fine sand plaster applied by spatula, with colors inspired by 18th-century painter Francesco Guardi, then heated and fused.

Precisely delineated, Serenissimo becomes a graphic composition: four columns and a linear steel girder float the tabletop above. In the spirit of Lella and Massimo Vignelli’s original design, geometry and materials speak through elemental forms, soft Venetian tones, refined metal finishes, and a wide glass surface — achieving a harmonious balance of monumental proportions.

The table is available to experience in person at our showroom in Old City.
