From digital pixels to physical prototypes
We recently stepped into the living laboratory of to provide 3D modeling and printing services for their landmark roof restoration. Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert masterpiece was always intended to be a space for constant innovation, and we are proud to help carry that legacy forward.
This project goes beyond aesthetics to focus on high performance sustainability. By utilizing advanced and climate responsive materials, the new roof system recreates the experience of an open air structure while providing a level of protection and efficiency that did not exist before. This restoration directly addresses energy inefficiencies by improving natural ventilation and significantly reducing the building’s reliance on mechanical cooling.
To ensure the transition from historic design to modern performance was seamless, we produced high fidelity models of the new extruded aluminum frames and structural beams.
We love helping architects and foundations solve complex problems through advanced modeling and fabrication solutions. In this case we used 3D printing to physically verify these components before full scale construction began.

We are proud to share that our parent company 180 Degrees Design + Build received the Adaptive Reuse Award at the Arizona Chapter American Concrete Institute’s Exposing the Best in Concrete Gala 2025.
The Guild supported the project with design assistance and custom fabrication of the parametric cast in place concrete wall. Evan Emery led the parametric modeling that turned the design vision into reality, while Mikhail Gladchenko guided the project management and ensured every detail came together on site.
This recognition is a great example of what happens when design technology and hands on craft come together.

This steel screen turns the entry into an experience, shifting from solid to transparent as you move along the facade. At the base, each blade lifts seamlessly out of the concrete, and the patina brings a warmth that plays against the crisp white stucco of this guesthouse.
Designed by and fabricated by The Guild, the screen is equal parts function and art, shaping privacy, shadow, and light.

Forging Shade: Bringing The Burrow to Life for ¡Sombra!
We were honored to be selected for The Burrow, one of nine innovative public art installations for ¡Sombra! Experiments in Shade—a project tackling urban heat through creativity and design.
Designed by artists Josie Davis & Jenny Boehme, The Burrow takes inspiration from natural cooling strategies, merging art, architecture, and climate-conscious design to create a shaded retreat at Roesley Park. The Guild is proud to be creating the architectural documents and fabricating this unique installation, helping bring innovative shade solutions to Phoenix.
Funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Public Art Challenge, ¡Sombra! unites artists, designers, and fabricators to craft large-scale, impactful works that provide relief in the city’s hottest spaces.
Stay tuned as transform this vision to reality!

Final photos by documenting our team’s effort to coordinate and successfully remove the iconic 77-foot spire from Ascension Lutheran Church in Paradise Valley.
Designed by William Wesley Peters, a distinguished apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright, this spire holds a significant place in architectural history. The spire will be preserved and repurposed as a historical landmark for the Town of Paradise Valley.
This preservation effort was made possible thanks to the efforts of PHX Architecture, Councilwoman Christine LaBelle, Arcadia Custom Builders, 180 Degrees, Scott Jarson of , and other dedicated community members.
