Employee Spotlight: Dee Dee Pitts!

Some stories are a beautiful reminder that God can meet us in our hardest seasons and lead us somewhere we never imagined we could be. Dee Dee Pitts is one of those stories.

Dee Dee’s journey with The Dream Center began at our Pickens Resale Store, but not as an employee. She came to us in a season when she was struggling, carrying more than anyone should have to bear alone. After experiencing the devastation of losing custody of her child and battling addiction, Dee Dee found herself searching for a way forward. One of our store employees connected her with The Dream Center, where she completed an intake and was referred to a recovery program with one of our trusted community connections.

After months of hard work and growth, Dee Dee graduated from the program and became a resident at The Dream Center. During her time there, we watched her grow in her faith, find healing, and shine with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Her journey led to one of the most beautiful milestones imaginable: being reunited with her son and regaining full custody.

But God wasn’t finished writing her story!

During her time at The Dream Center, Dee Dee began working at our Pickens Resale Store. Today, she is still part of that team, and we are overjoyed to celebrate her recent promotion to Assistant Store Manager of the very store where her healing journey began!

Dee Dee’s heart belongs to Jesus, her little boy, and The Dream Center. She brings laughter, joy, and light wherever she goes, and we are so blessed to have her as part of our family.

Dee Dee, we are SO proud of you! Your story is a beautiful testimony of redemption, restoration, and the faithfulness of God. What began as a place where you came looking for help has become a place where you now get to help others.

From receiving hope to helping share it, Dee Dee is living proof that your story isn’t over. And sometimes, the very place where your healing begins becomes the place where God uses you to help others heal, too.

Congratulations, Dee Dee! We love you, we are cheering you on, and we cannot wait to see all God has in store for you!

Part-Time Resident Managers

We are seeking spiritually mature, compassionate individuals who have a heart for serving women and children and a genuine desire to live out their faith through relationships and service.

Position Overview
Resident Managers help create a safe, welcoming, structured, and Christ-centered environment for the women and children who call Opportunity Village home. This is a unique part-time opportunity for individuals who feel called to ministry through service and enjoy building meaningful relationships with others.

We are seeking two people for each of our two part-time schedules. Married couples or two individuals who would enjoy serving together are welcome to apply.

Qualifications
-A strong, active Christian faith and a genuine desire to serve Jesus by loving and helping others.
-Dependability, maturity, sound judgment, and emotional stability.
-The ability to establish healthy boundaries while offering compassion, encouragement, and accountability.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
-Willingness to stay overnight on-site during scheduled shifts.
-Ability to successfully complete required background checks and any applicable screening.

Part-Time Opportunity #1: Monday–Tuesday
Two people needed
Monday: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM
Monday: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
Monday overnight: Sleep overnight on-site in tiny house in Opportunity Village
Tuesday: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM
Tuesday: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
Tuesday evening: End of scheduled shift; depart after closing responsibilities are completed at 9pm.

Part-Time Opportunity #2: Tuesday–Thursday
Two people needed
Tuesday evening: Arrive by 9pm and sleep overnight on-site in tiny house
Wednesday: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM
Wednesday: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
Wednesday overnight: Sleep overnight in a staff designated tiny house in Opportunity Village.
Thursday: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM
Thursday morning: End of scheduled shift at 9am
